Help!  Post SP3 problem
I upgraded the passive nodes on our 2007 CCR cluster from SP2 to SP3. Now I can't fail over to the newly upgraded nodes! When I try to move the group, it just says it failed. I tried rebooting the passive nodes, and that did not help. Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you follow the procedure precisely? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676320%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx This is for SP1 to SP2, but should be the same for SP2 to SP3.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Thanks for the reply. I actually had not seen that link, but it turns out I did pretty much the same thing anyway. Things are now breaking down at step 11. That is to say, everything goes fine up until that point, and then I run Setup /upgradecms. It takes just a second to process before I get back to the command prompt. I look in Cluster Manager to see if the cluster is now over on Node B, and it is, but with a status of Failed. Try to bring it online, and it won't. The only thing I can do is to move it back to Node A....

Ok, so when you attempted to move the CMS to NOde B, you did this from Node B yes? After rebooting Node B that is. When it fails, anything in the event log?

Yes, I did it from Node B. Not much helpful in the event logs unfortunately: ------------------------------------------------------------- Source: ClusSvc Event ID: 1069 Description: Cluster resource 'Exchange Information Store Instance (CMS1)' in Resource Group 'CMS1' failed. ------------------------------------------------------------- Source: ClusSvc Event ID: 1065 Description: Cluster resource Exchange Information Store Instance (CMS1) failed to come online.

Ok, assuming all the necessary services are started, and if you can find no smoking gun, you may want to open a case with Microsoft.
